Here’s what Onyx had to say about her year as Miss Teen Galaxy Wales!
‘There are so many things I could say regarding my time as Miss Teen Galaxy Wales, including it has been one of the most incredible experiences of my life.
Winning the Miss Teen Galaxy Wales title and then placing 1st runner up at internationals is something I definitely didn’t expect and I’m not totally sure it’s sunk in yet… But what I can say is that it lifted my confidence copious amounts! I am beyond grateful and honoured to have done so well, as well as extremely proud of my sister queens!
My experience at the Galaxy International Pageant is one that I will most certainly never forget, it was a week full of firsts for me (first time away from my mam, first time on an aeroplane etc) and yet I did not feel out of my depth in the slightest and that is due to the incredible levels of support from my sister queens, the pageant girl team, everyone at the international pageant and everyone at home cheering us on! That week I made friends for life those of which I have spoken to every day since.
My reign for me has been an experience of self-development and I feel like I can honestly say that because of the Galaxy Pageant I am the best version of myself that I can be and for me that is something so important.
I have been given the opportunity to use my title in order to speak out about racism and feminism, two things that need to be talked about in our society because they are still huge issues. Being part of the Galaxy family has allowed me to amplify my voice that I will continue to use even as my reign comes to its end.
I wholeheartedly encourage everyone to chase their dreams, never give up or lose faith, everything happens for a reason!’
