12 year old May Parry from Walsall, was crowned Junior Miss Galaxy UK at the UK Galaxy Pageants 10th anniversary! Get to know May by reading her interview below!
What made you want to enter the UK Galaxy Pageants?
I had heard lots of girls say Galaxy was a great experience and I wanted to try it myself so my mom and I went to watch one of the finals in 2017 and as soon as it started I knew I wanted to enter.
What did you do to prepare for the final?
To prepare for the finals I made lots of appearances and organised my own charity evening in aid of The Christie and St Giles Walsall hospice.
What is the best thing about being a Galaxy Girl?
The best part of being a Galaxy girl as to be the friends I have made as well as all the opportunity’s and experiences I have had and I cannot wait for the year ahead as Junior Miss Galaxy UK.
Who is your inspiration?
Lots of people have inspired me but I think I have to say Misha Grimes is my inspiration I love watching her Galaxy Journey as well as her videos and she proves that you should never give up on your dreams.
What part of the international Galaxy Pageants in Orlando are you most excited about?
What I am looking forward to the most about the International Galaxy Pageant in Orlando has to be spending time with Team UK, meeting all the other finalists and having lots of fun.
Tell us your favourite:
Film/tv programme – My favourite film is Beauty and the Beast.
Food – I love Chocolate Biscuits.
Song – My favourite song at the moment is “This is me” from the Greatest Showman
Beauty/make-up product – My favourite makeup product is Hoola Bronzer
Do you have any exciting plans/appearances organised for your year as a Galaxy queen?
I have lots planned for my year as Junior Miss Galaxy UK and you will have to follow my journey to see what I get up to.
When you aren’t busy being a beauty queen, what do you do in your free time? Do you have any hobbies?
During the week my hobby is dancing I have been a competitive freestyle dancer for several years and I love training and spending time with my dance friends we have a lot of fun at dance.
What advice would you give to girls who are thinking about entering the UK Galaxy Pageants?
For girls thinking about entering Galaxy I would say go for it you will have the best time ever as well as making lots of new friends along the way. From the day I got my sash I enjoyed every minute travelling the UK meeting so many amazing people and being on the Galaxy stage was the best feeling in the world and a dream come true.
