Get to know your Miss Junior Teen Great Britain, Ellie Corcoran!

What made you want to enter the Miss Teen Great Britain competitions?

Before I went to high school, I was always a very happy and bubbly girl and I think having the big change to a new school sort of knocked that out of me and I became quite shy. I saw Miss Teen GB as an opportunity to regain my confidence and it did exactly that. The experience helped me find my sparkle again!

What did you do to prepare for the final?

In preparation for this years final I did lots of appearances and charity work yet I also took time out to focus on me. How could I become the best version of myself and how could I make sure I was ready for the crown. I had help with my walks and interview from The Pageant Coaching Academy (I would definitely recommend if coaching is something you’re looking into but it is definitely not necessary!). Also every day when I had 5 minutes spare, I used to look in the mirror and think about what I had achieved throughout my year as a finalist and to be grateful for everything I had done and that got me in a really positive space mentally ready for finals.

What was your favourite part of the grand final weekend? (besides winning the crown)

The whole weekend was incredible however I think one of the highlights for me was the Pyjama Party. It was so lovely to get closer with the other contestants and have fun before the final began, and of course there was pizza which made it 10x better!

How did your friends and family react when you won?

My whole family and all of my friends are so supportive of pageant journey. Every year I have competed at Miss Teen GB my friends have watched the livestream so to see me win they were absolutely ecstatic! Some of you may know that my mum is my biggest supporter, when I won she was jumping up and down out of excitement it was honestly the cutest thing!

What does it mean to you to be a Miss Teen Great Britain queen?

Miss Teen GB has been a part of my life for 4 years and it has truly shaped me into the person I am today. I love what Miss Teen GB stands for, inspiring girls to be confident in who they are and be ‘beautifully inspiring’. To finally being a queen and to be abpart of the Pageant Girl UK family is honestly a dream, I still can’t believe that I did it!

Who is your role model?

To be honest my role model changes on a weekly basis! So many people inspire me that I can’t just chose one, but in pageantry I would probably have to say Pia Wurtzbach because not only did she do so much for her community but she also handled every obstacle with grace and elegance and that’s something I really aspire to radiate when I am older.

What would be your dream job?

My dream job is to be a professional model. Every year before the Victoria Secret Show was cancelled, I used to watch it on my iPad and dream of being up there one day. I am obsessed with the fashion industry so if modelling didn’t work out, I would love to get into fashion buying. Mainly because you basically get to go shopping on someone else’s credit card!

What is your favourite TV programme\film?

My favourite film has to be Mama Mia. Ever since I was a little girl I used to sing along to the songs and dance about thinking I was in the movie. I would love to go to the island of Skopelos where the movie was filmed one day.

When you aren’t busy being a beauty queen, what do you do in your free time? Do you have any hobbies?

In my free time I love to go to the beach or go on a walk. I’m a huge believer in healthy body healthy mind so whenever I can I try and get out of the house and do a bit of exercise to keep me sane! Other than that, I have a job scooping ice cream in my local cafe. It sounds silly but I actually love it!

What advice would you give to girls who want to enter the Miss Teen Great Britain competition?

The only advice I can give you is be yourself and enjoy every second! If you are yourself the judges will see that and fall in love with your true personality. It’s great to have a goal, but remember winning is a bonus! Don’t have tunnel vision and only think about the crown, if you enjoy and absorb every moment then you will walk away with more than just the title!

Describe your Miss Teen Great Britain experience in three words:

Unforgettable, eye opening and beautiful (sorry I think that’s technically 4 words lol)
