Milli Jo Adair, from Liverpool, was crowned Miss Junior Teen Great Britain at the grand final in October 2017!
We just had to ask her all about her pageant experiences!
What made you want to enter the Miss Teen Great Britain competition?
My mother found the MTGB website and shown me it. I looked at the pictures and thought it would be so much fun to try it out! For new experiences and to make more friends!
What did your family and friends say when you told them you had entered?
My family and friends were really supportive and helped me get organised with the planning and fundraising events.
What did you do to prepare for the final?
I only had a month to do my appearances and charity. The first thing I did was look on the internet ask friends for events that were happening that month so that I could attend them. I also organised bake sales, charity salons and more to raise money. I also tried my very best to do as many appearances as I could.
What was your favourite part of the grand final weekend? (besides winning the crown)
My favourite part was the challenge day. I really enjoyed this because I was given the opportunity to make friends and talk about everyone’s journey.
How did your friends and family react when you won?
My family were screaming and crying they were so happy I won. My friends were so happy for me and were trying to call me! I received so many lovely messages that I’m so grateful for.
Who is your role model?
My role model is my mum, because if it wasn’t for my mum I wouldn’t be the person I am today. My mother has moulded me into the person I am. She has shown me that no matter what situation you go through, by being a strong, independent woman, you can show the you are capable of anything.
What would be your dream job?
My dream job would to be an actress. I love watching movies and I love performing. I have participated in some shows such as, Little Shop of Horrors and High School Musical.
What is your favourite TV programme\film?
About a week ago my answer would be I hate tv shows. But ever since last week my life has changed! I’m in love the “The Flash” I cannot pick my favourite film because there are too many but I love Harry Potter, Jurassic World/Park, Hunger Games and many more.
Do you have any plans for your year as a Miss Teen Great Britain queen?
Yes, I have my dairy noted with some appearances which I want to attend. My goal is to raise as much money for Alder Hay Hospital in Liverpool. Seems I have a great connection with this hospital. So far, by myself I’ve raised nearly 3000 pounds. I really want to take action and use my title to make a difference.
When you aren’t busy being a beauty queen, what do you do in your free time? Do you have any hobbies?
In my free time I’m normally studying, but on the weekends, I like going to the cinema with my friends and going bowling. I have lots of hobbies which include, singing, acting, football, basketball and volleyball.
What advice would you give to girls who want to enter the Miss Teen Great Britain competition?
People have the wrong idea when they think about pageants. They automatically think of crazy parents forcing their children to perform on stage when it is something completely different. It is about bonding, gaining confidence, making friends and lots more.
Not only do you go on stage, you get the challenge day with lots of games and a pyjama party. Honestly, it’s an amazing experience. Personally, I’ve entered 3 of the Pageant Girl UK pageants (two being in the Miss Teen GB competition) and I always leave there with lots of new friends from around the country.
This pageant is amazing, not only because of the reasons above, but also because 50% is interview, it’s more about your beauty on the inside than outside. For example, I have braces and never in a million years did I expect to take home any title with braces. It is an event you do not want to miss out on. Just do it!
Describe your Miss Teen Great Britain experience in three words:
Fun, Crazy and friends.
